Taking a bit of a liberty by squeezing in this cheeky “Doors” post!
This is a section of the of doors on sale down at our local demolisher. I called in there recently with a shed door in mind and, as always, I was absolutely impressed at the variety.
Each door was caringly marked with its measurements e.g. 820 x 2050mm or 32.28 by 80.7 inches. (I don’t know how you imperial guys manage). Plus a little sketch of the panels or panes and of course the price.

I regret not having bought one of those doors. Instead I “home-made” a pine shed door using pine slats. It does not come close in looks and quality and only saved me about $20. I would have done well to buy the one marked Ledge Door (below). It was a beautiful hardwood door and would have been perfect.

I need to go back. There is so much fascinating stuff there and maybe I will ask the lovely owners if I can take some more pics. Perhaps the ledge door will still be there.
Love doors. Busy saving my old doors n floors as we renovate. I read a screed by an old codger who swore you couldn’t do woodwork in metric. One inch and one sixteenth was much more accurate and if needed, you could even go down to one thirty second of an inch.
