Thursday doors, hosted by Dan at https://nofacilities.com/
1996 was a year mainly spent in London UK. Between study and sitting some exams I had a very good look around and my family came over to join me for a while. These photos are of course pre digital, 35mm film, and were scanned en masse and labeled at some stage when I had time for that sort of thing.
Les Misérables at The Palace Theatre

The Tower of London

The Apollo 10 space capsule was photographed (through its door) at the London Science Museum which is of course a great place to visit.

High tech at the time …

On the subject of high tech… a toilet in central London. It was coin operated and as I recall the entire interior washed itself down between clients.

Great to see my original home city captured in your photographic time-capsule.

At first I thought, 1996 wasn’t that long ago. Then I did the math. These are great photos.

Dan, I have been doing the math a lot lately. Sometimes I need to open the calculator app just to double check!! / steve

I sit here wondering why 1996 seems like a long time ago. That is ivy turned autumn crimson clinging to that building behind your family, yes? It is gorgeous and in its own way makes doors and windows more dramatic. Congratulations on scanning those old photos — they are gems!
